Terms of Service
Last updated: August 10, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Pour Thoughts L.L.C., a District of Columbia limited liability company, covering PourPar at pourpar.com. They are written in plain language on purpose. If a clause here reads unclear to you, write to us and we will fix the wording rather than lean on it.
What PourPar is
PourPar is a subscription web app for bars and restaurants. It costs recipes, sets prep pars, drafts order sheets, and reports on the week, all worked out from the book you put into it: your recipes, your prices, your inventory, your sales, your schedule. Every number it shows comes from plain arithmetic over that book. No language model is involved in the math.
Who may use it
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. If you sign up on behalf of a business, you are telling us you have the authority to bind that business, and “you” in these terms means both of you. PourPar is offered in the United States only for now.
Your account
Accounts run through Clerk, our sign-in provider. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@pourpar.com if you think someone else has access. One subscription covers one business at one address. Each bar inside that house is priced separately, as section 4 sets out.
Free trial, price, and billing
- PourPar is $120 per month for one bar. Every additional bar in the same house is $15 per month, up to 5 bars. So $120, $135, $150, $165, or $180 depending on how many bars you run.
- A bar means a service point under one roof, such as a lobby bar, a rooftop, or a restaurant bar. A separate address is a separate subscription.
- The standard free trial is 14 days. Some partner referral links carry 30 days. Whatever the checkout page shows you is the trial you get.
- Bars switching from another purchasing system may claim a 60-day free trial from the switch page. The same rules apply: a card goes on file at checkout, nothing is charged during those 60 days, and when they end the card is charged $120 per month for one bar, plus $15 for each additional bar, on the same day each month until you cancel. Cancel before the trial ends and nothing is charged.
- A payment card goes on file at checkout through Stripe before the trial starts. Nothing is charged during the trial.
- When the trial ends, the card is charged the amount your checkout page showed and then charged again on the same day each month until you cancel. Prices do not include taxes where taxes apply.
- Adding a bar mid-month raises the monthly price from that point on. Stripe prorates the change, so you pay the difference for the days left in the month rather than a full month twice.
- Cancel anytime from the Stripe billing portal, which is linked inside the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for, and your access runs to the end of that period.
- We do not prorate or refund partial months. If something went wrong on our side, write to us and we will make it right instead of hiding behind this line.
- If a payment fails we may pause access after making a reasonable attempt to reach you. Your book stays put while it gets sorted out.
- If we change the price we will email the account address at least 30 days before it hits your renewal, so you can cancel first if you want to.
Acceptable use
Do not do any of the following:
- Resell PourPar, sublicense it, or run it as a service for businesses that are not yours. Multiple bars inside your own house are fine and expected, at the price in section 4.
- Share one account across unrelated businesses to avoid paying for each one.
- Point scripts, scrapers, or bulk jobs at the AI parsing feature or at a private inbound email address. Those exist so a person can bring in their own sheets, and abuse of them costs us real money.
- Upload anything you have no right to upload, or anything unlawful.
- Probe, overload, or try to break the service, or try to reach data that is not yours.
- Copy the interface or reverse engineer the engine to build a competing product.
We can throttle, suspend, or close an account that does these things. Where the situation allows and it looks like an honest mistake, we will ask before we act.
Your book is yours
Everything you enter or import stays yours: recipes, costs, inventory, sales figures, schedules, staff records, notes. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you, which is to store that content, compute on it, and show it back to you and to the people you give access.
- Export: the whole book exports to a file from Settings, anytime, while the account is open. Take a copy before you cancel if you want one in hand.
- After cancellation: we keep your book for 90 days so a returning customer finds their work waiting, then it is deleted on our schedule. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will, normally within 30 days of the request.
- We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. That is a promise in the privacy policy and it is a term of this contract.
Information about your staff
If you enter names, emails, phone numbers, or wages for your employees, that information is yours and it is about your people. You are responsible for having a lawful reason to hold it, for telling your staff what you keep, and for keeping it current. We hold and process it only to run the features you use, on your instructions. Section 4 of the privacy policy sets out the full framing.
AI parsing
When you drop a sheet and ask us to read it, the text of that sheet goes to Anthropic’s API so a model can pull the rows out. That happens at the moment you ask and never in the background. The result comes back as a preview you approve or discard, and nothing lands in your book until you approve it. Anthropic does not train models on data sent through its API. If you would rather skip it entirely, the plain CSV import path does the same job with no model involved.
Inbound email, where it is turned on
Some accounts get a private email address for sending sheets in. Mail to that address is received by our inbound mail provider and held as a pending item until you apply or dismiss it. Pending items are deleted 30 days after they arrive. Keep the address private: anyone who has it can put items in your queue. Nothing in that queue changes your book until you approve it, and you can rotate the address from inside the app if it ever gets out.
Our side of the line
PourPar itself, meaning the software, the engine, the interface, the words, and the name, belongs to Pour Thoughts L.L.C. Your subscription is a right to use it while you pay for it, not a transfer of it. Feedback you send us we are free to use without owing you anything for it, which in practice means we go build what you asked for.
The numbers are decision support
PourPar computes from what you give it. A wrong yield, a stale price, or a miskeyed pack size produces a wrong answer, correctly calculated. Check anything before you rely on it for ordering, pricing, payroll, or tax, and keep your own records where the law requires them. PourPar is not accounting, legal, or tax advice, and it is not your system of record for payroll or employment compliance.
No warranty
The service is provided as it is and as it is available. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for any particular purpose, and to the fullest extent the law allows we disclaim the implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither side is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, or lost data. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. If you paid nothing in that period, for example during a trial, the cap is $120. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Suspension and termination
You can cancel anytime, for any reason, from the billing portal. We can suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, does not pay, or puts the service or other customers at risk. We will tell you why, and where the problem can be fixed we will give you a chance to fix it. If we ever shut PourPar down entirely, we will give at least 60 days notice by email so you can export your book.
Changes to these terms
We will post the new version on this page with a new date at the top, and for any change that materially affects you we will email the address on the account at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use PourPar after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, cancel before they take effect.
Legal odds and ends
These terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between us about the service. If one clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. Not enforcing something once does not mean we gave it up. You may not assign this agreement without our written consent; we may assign it to a successor if the business is sold or reorganized. These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and any dispute goes to the state or federal courts sitting in the District of Columbia.
How to reach us
Questions about these terms, billing, or your account go to a person, not a form.
